Bently Nevada 3500/05 System Rack
Brief Product Description
The 3500/05 System Rack is the core mechanical chassis and backplane carrier for the Bently Nevada 3500 machinery protection and condition monitoring system. Designed as a standard 19-inch EIA full-size rack, it supports up to 14 module slots and accommodates all 3500 series monitoring modules, power supplies, and interface cards. Featuring a rugged aluminum frame, built‑in backplane bus communication, and optimized ventilation structure, it provides stable mechanical support, reliable power distribution and high-speed inter-module data transmission for 24/7 continuous machinery protection in harsh industrial environments.
3500 racks are available in two sizes:
Full-size rack. 19-inch EIA rack with 14 available module slots.

Mini-rack. 12-inch rack with seven available module slots.

Core Product Functions
- Provides standard 19-inch rack mounting structure with 14 configurable slots for full-series 3500 I/O and monitor modules
- Integrated high-speed backplane bus to realize real-time data communication and logic interaction between all installed modules
- Supports dual redundant power supply installation for bumpless power switching and uninterrupted system operation
- Uniform power distribution and circuit isolation to ensure stable power supply for vibration, position and temperature monitoring cards
- Optimized internal air duct design for passive heat dissipation, preventing overheating during long-term full-load operation
- Robust mechanical anti-vibration structure adapting to vibration-intensive industrial field environments
- Full compatibility with all Bently Nevada 3500 series modules including monitor, communication and relay output cards
- Standard industrial cabinet installation modes including rail-mount, panel-cutout and bulkhead mounting
- Unified system grounding and shielding design to reduce electromagnetic interference and improve monitoring accuracy
Application Scenarios
- Power plant gas turbine and steam turbine vibration and shaft position protection system cabinets
- Oil & gas onshore and offshore platform large rotating machinery monitoring racks
- Petrochemical and refinery centrifugal compressor and turbo-expander safety protection systems
- Metallurgical, mining and industrial large fan and pump condition monitoring equipment
- Cogeneration plant and industrial power station generator machinery protection control cabinets
- Maintenance replacement and system expansion for existing legacy Bently 3500 monitoring systems
FAQ (Frequently Asked Questions)
- Q: Modules fail communication and show offline status after installation?
A: Check incomplete module insertion, loose backplane contact, damaged backplane bus circuit or inconsistent module firmware versions. - Q: The whole rack occasionally resets or loses data during operation?
A: Inspect unstable power supply input, poor cabinet grounding, blocked ventilation causing overheating or severe on-site EMI interference. - Q: Does the 3500/05 rack support hot-swap of modules during running status?
A: Yes, the backplane supports module hot swapping; replace single I/O or monitor modules without shutting down the entire system. - Q: Can this rack be equipped with non-3500 series third-party monitoring modules?
A: No, it is exclusively designed for Bently Nevada 3500 series modules; third-party hardware is mechanically and electrically incompatible. Q: Is the 3500/05 system rack still available for new construction projects?
A: It is a mature legacy platform with EOL original production. Only surplus, tested and refurbished racks are supplied for industrial maintenance and retrofit projects.
