GE IS215UCVFH2A UCV Main Controller Board for Mark VI Speedtronic Turbine Control System
Product Description
The IS215UCVFH2A is a double‑slot 6U VME high‑performance UCV (Universal Control Unit) main controller board developed by GE for the Mark VI Speedtronic turbine control platform. It adopts an 850MHz Pentium III embedded processor, equipped with 32MB DRAM and non‑volatile flash memory, and runs the QNX real‑time operating system. The circuit board uses conformal coating for dust, humidity and chemical corrosion resistance. It provides dual 10/100Mbps Ethernet, dual RS232 serial ports and VME backplane master interface, serving as the core computing unit of the Mark VI rack. It is widely supplied as spare replacement hardware for thermal power combined‑cycle units and large rotating machinery control cabinets.

Product Functions
- Execute high‑speed real‑time turbine governor control, load regulation and protection logic algorithms under QNX RTOS
- Act as VME bus master to collect measurement data from all I/O boards and output control commands to drive actuators
- Dual redundant Ethernet communication for data exchange with HMI, historian and plant supervisory control network
- Two RS232 serial ports support local configuration, debugging and third‑party instrument communication
- Store control application programs, system configuration, alarm logs and sequence‑of‑events fault records in flash memory
- Complete hardware self‑diagnosis for CPU, memory, Ethernet channels, serial ports, VME bus and onboard power supply
- Front‑panel LED indicators display power, run status, network link and system fault codes for on‑site maintenance inspection
- Supports TMR triple modular redundant configuration for high‑availability safety control of critical turbine units
Application Scenarios
- Gas turbine and steam turbine control cabinets of thermal power combined‑cycle units with GE Mark VI Speedtronic systems
- Large synchronous generator control, load distribution and EX2100 excitation coordination control racks
- Off‑shore oil & gas platform turbine and large process compressor safety and governing control systems
- Natural gas pipeline compressor skids and petrochemical heavy‑duty rotating machinery control cabinets
- Industrial aeroderivative turbines and power plant BOP auxiliary equipment integrated automation systems
- Spare replacement and technical retrofit of aging GE Mark VI turbine control racks
Common Problems
- Controller fails to boot up after power‑on:VME backplane power abnormality, flash firmware corruption, backup battery depletion or aging onboard electrolytic capacitors
- Ethernet communication intermittent dropout:RJ45 connector oxidation, network cable aging, incorrect IP configuration, switch port failure or network chip degradation
- Serial communication unstable:RS232 terminal corrosion, ground‑loop interference, wrong baud rate, parity and stop‑bit parameters
- Loss of application programs and historical data:abnormal power outage, flash memory wear or file system damage caused by long‑term operation
- High CPU load and slow control response:over‑complicated control logic, excessive network data exchange or internal memory leakage
- Persistent hardware diagnostic alarm:dust accumulation on PCB, poor cabinet ventilation, overheating or hidden chip damage
- VME bus communication failure with I/O modules:oxidized backplane pins, loose connectors, VME transceiver circuit fault or incompatible firmware version
