Product Description
Applied Materials 0100-71310
Product Description
0100-71310 is a 6U VMEbus interface PCB assembly for Applied Materials Centura and Endura semiconductor processing platforms. It is a rack-mounted communication and signal buffer board, working alongside 0100-71309, responsible for reliable data transmission between chamber SBC, I/O modules, backplane and host controller in VME rack system.

Product Functions
- Provides VME bus signal buffering, bus arbitration and level conversion for multi-module data exchange inside control rack.
- Transfers real-time sensor data, process setpoints, chamber status and fault alarms between local chamber controller and peripheral I/O boards.
- Supports error detection and bus diagnostic functions to capture transmission faults for equipment maintenance.
- Enhances noise immunity to stabilize VME communication under strong electromagnetic interference from plasma chamber power supplies.
Application Scenarios
- Applied Materials Centura / Endura 200mm & 300mm wafer fabrication tools.
- VME rack control subsystem for PVD, CVD and plasma etch vacuum process chambers.
- Semiconductor front-end fabs for thin-film deposition and dry etch production lines.
Frequently Asked Issues
- Intermittent VME communication loss: Oxidation or poor contact of VME edge connector causes random data timeout and recipe abortion.
- ESD damage: Lack of electrostatic protection during handling burns onboard bus transceivers and logic ICs.
- PCB contamination: Chemical vapour residue and dust on traces create leakage and signal distortion.
- Component aging: Degraded buffer chips lead to unstable bus handshake and sporadic chamber fault alarms.
