Product Description

Bently Nevada 133300-01 (3500/15-04-04-00) Product Document

1. Product Description

133300-01 is the rear terminal card of Bently Nevada 3500/15 Low Voltage DC Power Input Module, matching model 3500/15-04-04-00, belonging to the 3500 series machinery protection monitoring system. It is a half-height hot-swappable rack power supply unit exclusively installed in the dedicated left-side power slot of the 3500 rack. This module accepts wide-range 88–140 VDC industrial DC input, converts raw DC into stable regulated 24 VDC power with maximum 5.2 A output to supply all vibration, speed, relay and communication boards inside the rack. It complies with API 670, CE, UL and CSA industrial safety standards, built with multi-layer surge, overcurrent and short-circuit protection circuits, and supports mixed redundant configuration with AC power supply modules in one rack.

2. Core Product Functions

  • Wide DC voltage conversion: converts 88–140 VDC field power to isolated 24 VDC bus power for the entire 3500 rack.
  • Dual redundant power backup: support two DC power modules or AC+DC hybrid power setup; seamless automatic switchover without system interruption during single power source failure.
  • Full electrical protection: integrated overvoltage, undervoltage, overcurrent, reverse polarity and transient surge suppression to avoid hardware burnout.
  • Hot-swap maintenance: can be plugged/unplugged online while the rack runs normally, no plant shutdown required for power supply replacement.
  • Real-time power diagnostic reporting: transmits power loss, overload, overheat and internal fault signals to the 3500 system processor for local panel alarm and remote DCS/SCADA uploading.
  • Electromagnetic noise isolation: isolates field DC input from sensitive sensor signal circuits to reduce vibration measurement interference caused by power grid noise.
  • High ambient temperature adaptability: stable operation within -40°C ~ +65°C industrial harsh temperature range.

3. Typical Application Scenarios

  • Offshore oil & gas platforms: offshore turbine, compressor and pump monitoring racks with 110 VDC marine backup power supply.
  • Thermal power plants: steam turbine and boiler fan monitoring systems using station 110 VDC control power.
  • Refinery & petrochemical plants: critical high-speed compressors, blowers and process rotating equipment with DC redundant power architecture.
  • Metallurgical heavy industry: rolling mill drive turbines, large exhaust fans with stable DC power distribution.
  • Remote unmanned pumping stations: pipeline booster pumps with battery bank 88–140 VDC power supply.
  • Mining ventilation systems: underground large fans where AC mains power is unstable, relying on DC backup power monitoring racks.

4. Common Faults & Troubleshooting Issues

4.1 DC Input Loss Alarm

Symptom: Module red fault LED illuminated, system logs "DC Power Loss". Root causes: loose green terminal block wiring, blown upstream DC circuit breaker, field DC voltage out of 88–140 VDC range, corroded wiring terminals. Solution: Re-tighten terminal screws, measure field DC voltage, clean rusted contact terminals, replace damaged power cables.

4.2 Redundant Power Switchover Failure

Symptom: Only single DC power supply works, monitoring system drops out when primary DC power cuts off. Root causes: excessive voltage difference between two DC input sources, oxidized backplane gold pins, damaged internal switching circuit. Solution: Balance dual DC power voltage, power down rack to clean backplane contacts, replace module if internal circuit breakdown is confirmed.

4.3 Overheat & Overload Alarm

Symptom: Module surface overheating, intermittent rack module resets, temperature fault alarm triggered. Root causes: blocked rack cooling vents, excessive total load of monitoring cards exceeding 5.2 A output limit, cabinet ambient temperature over 65°C. Solution: Clean ventilation filters, reduce rack card quantity, enhance cabinet air cooling, reserve ventilation clearance around rack slots.

4.4 Hot-Swap Signal Fluctuation

Symptom: Vibration signal transient loss during online module replacement. Root causes: bent backplane connector pins, improper insertion angle, dust accumulation on gold contact fingers. Solution: Power off rack to straighten pins and clean contacts, follow official insertion operation specification.

4.5 No 24VDC Output With Normal DC Input

Symptom: 88–140 VDC input measured normal, no power supplied to all rack modules, permanent red fault light. Root causes: internal short-circuit protection latch, burnt internal power conversion fuse, damaged DC-DC circuit board. Solution: Remove module to reset power circuit, replace 133300-01 power module if hardware failure persists.
