The AC 800M is a high-performance, modular process controller designed for industrial automation applications, delivering reliable and precise control across diverse process environments. AC 800M is a family of rail-mounted modules, consisting of CPUs, communication modules, power supply modules and various accessories. There are several CPU modules to choose from, ranging from single units with medium processing power and memory to fully redundant units with high processing power

The CPU board contains the microprocessor and RAM memory, a real-time clock, LED indicators, INIT push button, and a CompactFlash interface.
The base plate of the PM867 controller has two RJ45 Ethernet ports (CN1, CN2) for connection to the Control Network, and two RJ45 serial ports (COM3, COM4). One of the serial ports (COM3) is an RS-232C port with modem control signals, whereas the other port (COM4) is isolated and used for the connection of a configuration tool. The controller supports CPU redundancy for higher availability (CPU, CEX-Bus, communication interfaces and S800 I/O).
The high integrity functionality is enabled by the addition of an SM812 module and the SIL-certified software. The AC 800M High-Integrity also offers IEC 61508 and TÜV-certified control environment for combining safety and business-critical process control in one controller unit without sacrificing the safety integrity.
Only compatible for 800xA 6.0.2 and onwards. Please see Product Update for more information.

AC 800M ControllersSM812 (HI controllers)
The prime function of SM812, is to provide intelligent supervision of a controller during non-SIL and SIL1-2 operations, and together with a PM867 form a 1oo2 diverse structure for SIL3 applications.
For high availability applications it is possible to have redundant SM812´s that work together with any of the two redundant CPUs. SM812 has a dedicated synchronization link to synchronize active and redundant SM for hot-insert and online upgrade. It is needed during hot-insert and online upgrade situations to copy data between two SM812s in a redundant setup.
The SM812 has a connector with three digital inputs and two digital outputs that can be used for safety-related digital I/O (not process I/O).
