KONGSBERG MEI 8100276 Main Engine Interface Module
Product Description
MEI 8100276 stands for Main Engine Interface Module, a Kongsberg marine automation board for K-Chief series vessel monitoring and propulsion control system. It serves as the dedicated signal gateway between main engine local control panel and ship’s central automation system. This module collects engine speed, cylinder pressure, temperature, pressure, crankshaft position and governor feedback signals, and transmits commands from the ship control system to the engine governor and safety trip circuit. It adopts marine conformal coated PCB, supports 24VDC marine power supply, with galvanic isolation between field engine side and automation bus side, designed to withstand shipboard vibration, humidity and salt fog, cabinet rack-mounted, common revision version C2.

Key Functions
- Bi-directional signal conversion and isolation between main engine and K-Chief automation system
- Acquisition of engine analog & discrete signals: RPM, temperature, pressure, alarm and trip status
- Output control signals to engine governor, slow-down and shutdown protection circuit
- Built-in signal conditioning, surge protection and noise filtering for engine harsh EMC environment
- Onboard self-diagnosis, fault LED indication and event logging for troubleshooting
- Galvanic isolation to avoid ground loop interference between engine and automation cabinet
- Marine grade coating, anti-vibration and salt mist resistance for engine room cabinet installation
Application Scenarios
- Merchant vessel main engine monitoring & alarm system
- Offshore platform supply ship dynamic positioning and propulsion monitoring
- Kongsberg K-Chief 500 / K-Chief 600 integrated marine automation cabinets
- Engine room auxiliary machinery and propulsion safety interlock control
- Container ship, bulk carrier, FPSO engine control and data acquisition
