Product Brief Description

Woodward 8237-1603 is the ProTechTPS bulkhead-mounted triple modular redundant overspeed protection system with voted relay outputs, designed for rotating machinery safety instrument systems. Built on TMR architecture with 2-out-of-3 voting logic, it continuously monitors shaft speed from three independent speed transducers. When overspeed, over-acceleration, sensor fault or loss-of-speed events are detected, it triggers safety trip action via voted relay circuits. This standalone safety unit is physically mounted directly on turbine/compressor skids, independent of the turbine governor. It supports local HMI viewing, time-stamped event logging and Modbus RTU communication, widely stocked as safety spare for gas turbines, steam turbines and high-speed compressors.
