Reliance 0-57400-A AutoMax 115V AC/DC Input Module
Short Description: Reliance 0-57400-A is a 16-point 115V AC/DC digital input module for Reliance AutoMax PLC distributed control system. This legacy rack slot module reads high-voltage field contact signals and converts them into logic signals for the AutoMax processor. The suffix -A indicates hardware revision A. It is discontinued original production hardware, widely used as spare replacement for existing AutoMax automation racks.

Product Functions
- 16 isolated input channels for 115VAC / 115VDC field signal detection
- Convert high voltage contact signals to 5V logic for AutoMax backplane bus
- Onboard surge suppression and input filtering for harsh industrial cabinet environments
- LED status indicators per channel for local signal diagnostic visualization
- Direct slot mounting into AutoMax PLC rack, communicate via backplane bus
- Designed to receive limit switch, relay contact and field device status feedback
- Support hot insertion/removal under proper safety lockout-tagout procedure
Application Scenarios
- Reliance AutoMax PLC distributed control racks
- Metal rolling mills, paper machines and heavy manufacturing production lines
- Conveyor systems, material handling and press machine automation control
- Legacy plant DCS maintenance, spare inventory and retrofit projects
- Industrial machine safety interlock and field contact status acquisition
- Existing Reliance AutoMax installation emergency spare replacement
FAQ
Q1: Which system does Reliance 0-57400-A belong to?
A1: It belongs to Reliance AutoMax PLC system. Not compatible with Reliance DC/AC drives, HIMA, Siemens or Allen-Bradley PLC racks.
Q2: Is this module still in production?
A2: No, AutoMax platform is end-of-life. Available stock is new surplus, refurbished and fully tested used modules only.
Q3: What failure symptoms appear?
A3: Individual channel no signal input, wrong status reading, random flickering input status, backplane communication fault, or burned input circuit from voltage surge.
Q4: Can technicians repair the module on site?
A4: Qualified electronics technicians may replace burned optocouplers and protection components. Module swap is recommended for critical production lines to reduce downtime risk.
Q5: What are common failure causes?
A5: Voltage surges from field wiring, inductive load back EMF, dust contamination, vibration, optocoupler aging and overvoltage input damage
