Product Description
09472000 REV.C is MKS ASTeX control circuit board for ASTRON series Remote Plasma Source (RPS), compatible with the ASTRON 2L RPS system (AMAT PN:0920-00013) and matching RF power supply (086345-504). REV.C denotes the third hardware revision of this controller PCB. This board serves as the main logic and interlock controller inside the RPS RF power supply unit, responsible for processing host tool commands, monitoring all safety interlocks, controlling RF enable, plasma status feedback, fault detection and serial communication between AMAT wafer tool and RPS power supply.

Common Issues & FAQ
- No communication between RPS and tool host: Check communication wiring and connector pin integrity; verify PCB firmware version; inspect for ESD damage to communication chips on the board; confirm tool host configuration.
- Interlock fault triggered and RF cannot start: Check all interlock sensor signals routed to this PCB; inspect solder joints and opto-coupler components; verify temperature and flow sensor readings.
- Plasma ignition intermittent / unstable: Read fault logs stored on this control board; check firmware compatibility; inspect aging electrolytic capacitors on PCB for thermal drift; verify RF matching network coordination logic.
- PCB hardware failure: Common failure modes include ESD damage, capacitor drying, trace corrosion from cabinet humidity, or over-temperature burnout of semiconductors.
- Refurbished / replacement unit note: After installing REV.C control board, verify firmware revision matches RPS torch and RF power hardware. Perform interlock function test, host communication handshake test, RF power test and full plasma ignition validation. REV.C is a mature revision, but hardware revision compatibility must be validated before putting back to wafer production.
