Woodward 8280-5010 is the 723 PLUS high-performance digital speed and load controller, adopting 32-bit microprocessor, specially designed for reciprocating engines and gas turbine speed governing and fuel regulation. It supports dual magnetic pickup speed detection, precise PID speed regulation, genset synchronization and multi-unit load sharing. Equipped with rich analog/digital I/O and dual RS422 communication ports with Modbus protocol, it can connect with Watch Window software or handheld programmer for online parameter configuration, tuning and fault diagnosis. With wide DC power input range 18–40VDC and strong EMI shielding design, it adapts to harsh power house and marine engine cabin environments. It can realize base load, droop control and island operation for generator sets. As a legacy engine control spare component, it is available as fully-tested surplus and refurbished units for maintenance and retrofit of existing Woodward 723PLUS control systems.
