Product Description

Honeywell XNX‑AMAV‑RNCB1 Universal Gas Transmitter

Product Description

The XNX‑AMAV‑RNCB1 is a flameproof universal gas detection transmitter manufactured by Honeywell Analytics with ATEX/IECEx hazardous‑area certification. It adopts marine‑grade painted aluminum enclosure, M25 cable entries, mV sensor interface for catalytic bead MPD sensors, built‑in alarm and fault relay outputs, standard 4‑20mA signal with HART communication. The backlit multilingual LCD and non‑intrusive magnetic switches enable parameter setup without opening the explosion‑proof housing. It supports local or remote installation of compatible gas sensors and can be integrated with PLC and gas monitoring controllers. It is widely deployed as fixed gas safety monitoring equipment for explosive and corrosive industrial environments.

Product Functions

  • Continuous concentration measurement of flammable hydrocarbon gas with catalytic bead MPD sensors, measuring range 0‑100%LEL
  • 4‑20mA analog output and HART digital communication for remote configuration, real‑time data upload and diagnostic information transmission
  • Three configurable relay outputs for gas high/low alarm and system fault interlock control
  • Non‑intrusive magnetic button operation, calibration and parameter modification without removing explosion‑proof cover
  • Built‑in comprehensive self‑diagnosis, detecting sensor failure, circuit fault and communication abnormality with local LED and LCD alarm indication
  • Hot‑swappable sensor cartridges, sensor automatic identification and transmitter auto‑configuration after replacement
  • Support sensor remote extension installation, suitable for measuring points far away from the transmitter cabinet

Application Scenarios

  • Offshore platforms and on‑shore oil & gas production facilities for combustible gas leakage monitoring
  • Petrochemical refineries, chemical plants and solvent storage areas for flammable gas safety detection
  • Natural gas compressor stations, pipeline valve chambers and LNG processing plants
  • Wastewater treatment, biogas generation and coal chemical hazardous‑area gas monitoring
  • Marine vessel engine rooms, cargo tanks and hazardous cargo hold gas detection systems
  • Spare replacement and maintenance retrofit of existing Honeywell XNX series fixed gas detectors

Common Problems

  • Gas reading drift or slow response:catalytic bead sensor poisoning, dust/oil contamination on sensing element or sensor aging
  • False gas alarm without actual leakage:moisture condensation, volatile solvent interference or improper calibration
  • HART communication cannot connect:damaged shielding cable, wrong HART configuration or terminal corrosion
  • Relay fails to trigger alarm:relay contact burnout, incorrect alarm threshold or faulty relay circuit board
  • LCD no display or dim screen:insufficient 16‑32VDC supply voltage, loose internal connector or display module damage
  • Transmitter reports sensor fault:poor contact between sensor and socket, sensor cartridge end‑of‑life or wiring breakage
  • Calibration failure:calibration gas concentration mismatch, blocked sensor diffusion hole or degraded sensing bead
