Product Description

ABB ACS880‑01‑430A‑3 Wall‑Mounted Industrial Single Drive

Product Description

The ACS880‑01‑430A‑3 is ABB 250 kW, 430 A wall‑mounted single industrial AC drive with 380‑415 V three‑phase input, IP21 enclosure and R9 frame size. It adopts ABB unified all‑compatible drive architecture and Direct Torque Control (DTC) technology. This high‑performance frequency converter supports asynchronous motors, permanent magnet motors and synchronous reluctance motors. It has built‑in I/O terminals, optional fieldbus interfaces and control panel, designed for continuous heavy‑duty industrial speed and torque regulation in harsh workshop environments.

Product Functions

  • Direct Torque Control (DTC) for high‑precision speed, torque and closed‑loop position control
  • Variable‑torque and constant‑torque operation with 150% overload capacity for 60 seconds
  • Energy optimization function to reduce motor power consumption and improve efficiency
  • Built‑in programmable digital and analog I/O for local interlock and signal exchange
  • Multiple fieldbus options for Ethernet, Modbus and PLC system connection
  • Comprehensive protection: overcurrent, overvoltage, undervoltage, ground fault, overtemperature and stall protection
  • Real‑time fault recording, trend monitoring and maintenance reminder function
  • User programmable logic for customized machine sequence control

Application Scenarios

  • Large industrial fans, water pumps and cooling tower energy‑saving transformation
  • Compressors, extruders, mixers and heavy‑duty process equipment
  • Mining, cement, pulp & paper and chemical production lines
  • Metallurgical rolling, conveyor and crane constant‑torque drive systems
  • Power plant auxiliary equipment and water treatment automation
  • Skid‑mounted machinery and factory automation retrofitting projects

Common Problems

  • Overtemperature alarm:cooling fan damage, dust‑blocked heat sink or high cabinet ambient temperature
  • Ground fault trip:motor insulation aging, damaged output cable or internal power module failure
  • Overcurrent and stall fault:mechanical jamming, heavy startup load or motor winding short circuit
  • Fieldbus communication interruption:wrong bus address, loose connector, cable interference
  • Unstable speed and torque oscillation:incorrect DTC parameters, mechanical resonance or poor grounding
  • No output after power‑on:main circuit charging failure, control board fault or safety interlock triggered
  • Intermittent fault:vibration causing loose power terminals and control wiring
