Product Description

Honeywell 51403519‑160 (K4LCN‑16) LCN Memory Processor Module

Product Description

51403519‑160, model K4LCN‑16, is a rack‑mounted LCN memory processor board for Honeywell TDC3000 / TPS DCS systems. It adopts conformal coated PCB and is installed in the node chassis. As a core processing unit of Local Control Network, it provides high‑speed data memory, calculation and LCN bus communication management. This discontinued original Honeywell hardware is widely used for spare‑part replacement and maintenance of legacy DCS nodes, and can operate continuously under harsh industrial control cabinet conditions.

Product Functions

  • Execute LCN network data scheduling, real‑time process data storage and historical snapshot recording
  • Complete node logic operation, alarm processing and bidirectional data exchange on LCN bus
  • Coordinate communication between operator stations, controllers and other node devices on the LCN network
  • Built‑in hardware watchdog and self‑diagnosis circuit to detect memory errors, bus faults and chip anomalies
  • Support redundant node configuration to improve the reliability of the whole DCS control network
  • Load system configuration database and maintain continuous operation of TDC3000 control nodes

Application Scenarios

  • Petrochemical refinery and chemical plant Honeywell TDC3000 / TPS DCS node cabinets
  • Thermal power plant boiler and turbine old‑generation LCN distributed control systems
  • Offshore platforms, LNG and natural gas processing factory legacy Honeywell automation control rooms
  • Pulp, paper and pharmaceutical factories with long‑term running TPS control platforms
  • Spare parts replacement, maintenance and renovation of retired Honeywell LCN‑based DCS equipment

Common Problems

  • DCS node offline and LCN communication interrupted: Backplane gold‑finger oxidation, internal memory chip failure or damaged LCN transceiver circuit.
  • Random system crash and configuration loss: Aging onboard memory, unstable rack power supply or capacitor deterioration after long‑time operation.
  • Persistent processor fault alarm: Dust accumulation and overheating, PCB corrosion caused by cabinet humidity or firmware corruption.
  • Slow network response and data refresh delay: Degraded memory read‑write performance, excessive LCN node load or internal bus circuit aging.
  • Node cannot boot after board replacement: Incompatible firmware version, incorrect node address setting or poor backplane contact.
