Product Description

GE Spectra RMS SFHA36AT0250 Molded‑Case Circuit Breaker

Product Description

SFHA36AT0250 is a 3‑pole 250A F‑frame molded‑case circuit breaker from GE Spectra‑RMS series, rated up to 600V AC with bolt‑on mounting design. It adopts solid‑state RMS LSI electronic trip unit with interchangeable rating‑plug for field current‑rating adjustment without replacing the whole breaker frame. This current‑limiting breaker provides high interrupting capacity: 65kA@240V, 35kA@480V, 22kA@600V AC, certified by UL and CSA for industrial three‑phase power distribution systems.

Product Features

  • 3‑pole, 250A frame size, maximum operating voltage 600V AC, bolt‑on busbar installation
  • Electronic LSI trip: long‑time overload, short‑time delay, adjustable instantaneous short‑circuit protection
  • Interchangeable front‑mount rating‑plug to modify ampere rating on‑site without disassembly
  • High interrupt rating: 65kA@240V, 35kA@480V, 22kA@600V AC with current‑limiting performance
  • Clear ON‑OFF‑TRIP mechanical position indicator on front panel
  • HACR compliant marking, supports reverse‑feed connection application
  • Expandable accessories: auxiliary switch, shunt trip, undervoltage release
  • Digital RMS sampling works reliably for distorted and harmonic‑rich current waveforms
  • UL489 and CSA certified for commercial and industrial power distribution environment

Application Scenarios

  • Three‑phase main feeder and branch circuit protection in industrial distribution cabinets
  • Large motor circuit protection for petrochemical, mining and metallurgy plants
  • Switchgear protection for factory power‑rooms and heavy‑duty OEM machinery
  • Low‑voltage power distribution for data centers and large commercial facilities
  • Generator output circuit protection and combined load‑centre applications
  • Feeder protection for water‑treatment plants and manufacturing production lines

Common Problems & Troubleshooting

  • Frequent tripping under normal operating load: Confirm real‑world load does not exceed trip setting; verify rating‑plug matches required current; check cabinet over‑heating and terminal over‑temperature caused by loose connections.
  • Cannot reset after trip event: Toggle handle fully to OFF position before switching back ON; inspect downstream circuit for persistent short‑circuit or ground fault; check for burnt internal mechanical components.
  • Terminal lugs over‑heating: Tighten cable lugs to manufacturer‑specified torque value; confirm conductor cross‑section matches rated current; inspect oxidation or burn marks on bus‑bar and terminals.
  • No‑trip under overload condition: Confirm rating‑plug is properly seated; double‑check LSI trip setting parameters; do not modify internal trip‑unit hardware components.
  • Auxiliary / shunt‑trip accessory malfunction: Check accessory wiring and control‑supply voltage; verify mechanical assembly of add‑on accessories.
  • Mechanical handle stuck: Clear dust and foreign debris inside breaker housing; replace breaker if internal mechanism is damaged due to short‑circuit fault.
