   PathTrak CPU-5500 is the core single-board CPU module manufactured originally by JDSU (later VIAVI Solutions, ARRIS) exclusively for the PathTrak HFC return-path monitoring system, compatible with HCU1500, HCU400 series monitoring chassis. This rack-mount plug-in module acts as the master processing unit that manages all RPM series RF spectrum receiver cards installed in the same chassis, serving as the bridge between local RF measurement hardware and remote network operation centers (NOC). Powered via the chassis internal backplane without external power adapters, it integrates embedded industrial processor, local storage, 10/100Mbps Ethernet port and RS232 debug serial port. The unit collects real-time upstream RF spectrum data, QAM signal metrics, ingress noise and CPD (Common Path Distortion) readings from all monitoring modules, processes raw RF data locally and stores long-term historical trending logs.
