Product Description

5466-1045 Woodward MicroNet Plus CPU5200 Processor Module

1. Product Description

5466-1045 is the core CPU5200 controller module of Woodward MicroNet Plus turbine control series, a single-chassis standalone processor without expansion rack support. It adopts industrial 32-bit high-speed processor architecture, equipped with 64MB Flash firmware storage and 128MB DDR real-time data RAM, built-in SIL2 safety certification complying with IEC 61508 standard. The module is powered by 24VDC wide-range input (18~32VDC), supporting +24V remote reset signal. Front panel integrates LED diagnostic indicators, 1 general-purpose Ethernet port and 1 serial communication port for system data interaction. It complies with MIL-STD-810C shock resistance standard, operating stably under -40℃ ~ +85℃ harsh industrial cabinet environments, widely matched with Woodward 8405 series actuators, Bently 3500 TSI monitoring systems and GE Mark VIe control units for turbine unit integrated control.

2. Core Product Functions

  1. Deterministic Turbine Closed-loop Control: Executes high-speed speed governing, load regulation, pressure control and reactive power adjustment logic for gas/steam/diesel generator sets, realizing stable unit output under variable load conditions.
  2. Complete Safety Trip & Protection Logic: Integrated overspeed, over-temperature, low oil pressure and vibration interlock protection, triggers ESD trip signal when fault thresholds are exceeded to protect turbine and generator equipment.
  3. Multi-device Data Communication: Ethernet port connects HMI, DCS and remote monitoring platform; serial port communicates with field transmitters, vibration monitoring modules and actuators to upload real-time operating parameters and fault alarms.
  4. Remote Reset & Online Configuration: Accepts external 24V remote reset signal; supports online program download, parameter calibration and firmware upgrade via Woodward configuration software without powering off the whole system.
  5. Real-time Fault Diagnosis & SOE Recording: Built-in self-test circuit to detect CPU operation, memory, communication bus and I/O channel faults; stores sequence of event records for post-fault troubleshooting and analysis.
  6. Single-chassis I/O Resource Management: Schedules all analog/digital I/O boards installed in the same chassis, processes field sensor signals and outputs control drive commands to hydraulic actuators and solenoid valves.

3. Application Scenarios

  • Small & medium gas turbine generator sets, industrial steam turbine power stations
  • Oil & gas pipeline compressor units, offshore platform power generation control cabinets
  • Factory self-contained diesel generator power plants and distributed standby power systems
  • Marine vessel synchronous generator speed & load control (DNV GL certified)
  • Combined cycle power plant auxiliary unit control, matched with Bently 3500 TSI vibration monitoring system
  • Industrial compressor, blower and pump group automatic control with safety interlock protection

4. Common Typical Issues & Root Causes

Fault PhenomenonRoot Causes
CPU RUN indicator off, unable to execute control logic24VDC power supply voltage out of range, poor backplane contact, corrupted firmware, internal power circuit damage
Ethernet communication disconnection, no data uploaded to DCSDamaged network cable, IP address conflict, aging onboard Ethernet chip, network switch failure
Frequent safety trip alarms, unstable speed regulationMismatched control parameter settings, abnormal field sensor signals, internal memory read/write error
Remote reset signal invalid, module cannot restart remotelyLoose reset wiring, reset signal voltage lower than 24VDC, internal signal circuit damage
System fault light constant on, logic response lagExcessive program logic load, cabinet overheating due to poor heat dissipation, severe electromagnetic interference
Fail to download program via serial portIncorrect baud rate configuration, serial port wiring error, damaged internal serial transceiver chip
