Hydran M2 is a compact and permanently installed transformer online monitoring device that can alert staff when a fault occurs. It continuously monitors the combined value of various faulty gases (in ppm) or only the value of hydrogen, depending on the purchased sensor.

In addition, it can track the moisture content in the oil (in units of %RH and ppm). By adding additional sensors, the Hydran M2 can also calculate the mathematical model of the transformer in accordance with IEEE® and IEC® standards to provide more information about the transformer's performance.

Product Description

HYDRAN M2 is a compact, permanently installed online transformer monitoring device launched by GE, belonging to the HYDRAN series of dissolved gas analysis (DGA) products for transformer oil. It focuses on early fault diagnosis and preventive maintenance of transformers, providing comprehensive protection for the safe and stable operation of power transformers.

Equipped with flexible sensor configurations, the device supports both hydrogen-only monitoring and multi-gas detection. The composite gas sensor achieves 100% response to hydrogen and is sensitive to fault characteristic gases such as carbon monoxide, acetylene, and ethylene. Some configurations can simultaneously monitor 7 core gases including methane and ethane, with a minimum detection concentration of 0.1μL/L (for acetylene), enabling accurate capture of gas concentration changes caused by transformer faults like partial discharge, arcing, and oil overheating.

In addition to gas monitoring, it synchronously tracks moisture content in transformer oil (displayed in %RH and ppm) to promptly detect moisture anomalies caused by insulation paper degradation or gasket leakage. With optional temperature and load sensors, it can calculate transformer mathematical models in accordance with IEEE and IEC standards, outputting key parameters such as winding hot-spot temperature, paper humidity, and insulation aging degree for in-depth assessment of transformer operating status.
