Key Functions

  • 16-channel digital input for collecting status signal from safety switches and field sensors
  • 8-channel two-pole safety digital output for controlling solenoid valves and safety actuators
  • Channel-wise line diagnosis to detect wire break, short circuit and wiring faults
  • Dual SafeEthernet interfaces for redundant safety communication with HIMatrix controller
  • Fail-safe response: outputs switch to safe de-energized state upon communication loss or hardware fault
  • Front panel LED indicators for power, network status and individual channel fault alarm
  • Configuration, online monitoring and diagnosis supported by ELOP II engineering software

Application Scenarios

This mixed I/O module is widely used in Safety Instrumented Systems (SIS), Emergency Shutdown (ESD), Burner Management System (BMS) and Fire & Gas (FGS). It is deployed in oil & gas, petrochemical, chemical and power plants, used for acquiring field safety signals and driving safety interlock actuators.

Common Issues & Troubleshooting

  • Channel fault alarm: Loose terminal connection, cable short circuit, wire break or insulation degradation
  • SafeEthernet communication interruption: Damaged network cable, switch fault or incorrect IP parameter
  • Input signal abnormal: Wrong sensor wiring, unstable 24VDC power or contact bounce
  • Output cannot be energized: Overload, load wiring error or safety logic interlock trigger
  • Module offline randomly: Cabinet overheating, vibration impact or power supply fluctuation
