GE IS200VRTDH1D VRTD RTD Input Board for Mark VI / Mark VIe Speedtronic Turbine Control System
Product Description
The IS200VRTDH1D is a VME 6U rack‑mounted high‑precision resistance temperature detector (RTD) input board developed by GE for Mark VI and Mark VIe Speedtronic turbine control and EX2100 excitation systems. It adopts conformal coated PCB and industrial signal conditioning circuits, supporting up to 16 RTD inputs with 2‑wire, 3‑wire or 4‑wire Pt100 / Pt1000 sensors. The board converts resistance signals into digital temperature data and communicates with the main controller over the VME backplane bus. Designed for continuous operation in power plant cabinets with vibration, dust and heavy electromagnetic interference, it is widely used as spare replacement hardware for existing GE turbine and generator excitation racks.

Product Functions
- High‑precision sampling and conversion of RTD resistance signals into reliable digital temperature measurements
- Built‑in lead‑wire resistance compensation and digital filtering to suppress industrial noise interference
- Detect sensor open‑circuit, short‑circuit and out‑of‑range faults and send diagnostic alarms to the turbine controller
- Transmit real‑time temperature data via VME bus for monitoring, over‑temperature protection and closed‑loop control logic
- Front‑panel LED indicators display power, running status and fault alarms for convenient on‑site maintenance inspection
- Support TMR triple‑modular redundant configuration to improve reliability for critical turbine protection loops
- Complete onboard hardware self‑diagnosis for A/D converter, reference circuit, backplane communication and power supply faults
Application Scenarios
- Gas turbine and steam turbine control cabinets with GE Mark VI / Mark VIe Speedtronic systems in thermal power plants
- EX2100 generator excitation racks for monitoring bearing, stator winding and cooling system temperatures
- Off‑shore oil & gas platform turbine and large compressor safety monitoring systems
- Natural gas pipeline compressor skids and petrochemical rotating machinery temperature protection
- Hydropower plant generator temperature monitoring and over‑temperature interlock protection control
- Spare replacement and technical retrofit of aging GE turbine control and excitation racks
Common Problems
- Unstable or drifting temperature readings:aging A/D conversion circuit, degraded reference component or poor sensor wiring shielding
- Individual channel open‑circuit or short‑circuit alarm:field cable breakage, sensor damage, terminal corrosion or burned input isolation circuit
- All channels stop updating temperature data:onboard auxiliary power failure, VME backplane connector oxidation or bus transceiver chip damage
- Intermittent communication dropout with main controller:loose backplane pins, PCB contamination or strong electromagnetic interference
- Persistent hardware diagnostic alarm:electrolytic capacitor aging, dust accumulation and overheating caused by blocked heat dissipation
- Module cannot be recognized by VME rack:damaged backplane contact pins, incompatible firmware version or hidden circuit board damage
- False over‑temperature protection triggering:signal noise, ground‑loop interference or sensor drift without actual overtemperature
