Product Description

Honeywell 51404174‑275 (MC‑PSRX04) Redundant Power Supply Module

Product Description

51404174‑275, designated MC‑PSRX04, is a rack‑mounted redundant power supply unit for Honeywell Experion PKS / TDC3000 / TPS DCS PMIO racks. It is installed inside a dedicated power chassis and accepts 85‑264V wide‑range AC input, converting it into stable regulated 24VDC output for controllers and I/O modules. The circuit board adopts conformal coating, built‑in overvoltage, overcurrent and overtemperature protection circuits, and supports dual parallel redundant configuration. Designed for 24‑hour continuous operation in industrial control cabinets, it is widely used as spare parts for maintenance and retrofit of legacy Honeywell DCS systems.

Product Functions

  • Convert wide‑range AC mains power into stable 24VDC regulated power for PMIO racks, controller and I/O cards
  • Support dual redundant parallel operation with load sharing; automatic switchover without system shutdown if one unit fails
  • Multiple electronic protection including overvoltage, overcurrent, short‑circuit and overtemperature shutdown
  • Real‑time monitoring of output voltage, operating temperature and fault status with LED status indicators
  • Built‑in hardware self‑diagnosis to detect power anomalies and send fault alarms to DCS operator station
  • Provide reliable continuous power supply to ensure uninterrupted running of critical process control loops

Application Scenarios

  • Petrochemical refinery and chemical plant Experion PKS / TDC3000 PMIO distributed control cabinets
  • Thermal power station boiler and turbine critical DCS control racks requiring redundant power
  • Offshore platforms, LNG and natural gas processing factory automation control rooms
  • Pulp, paper and pharmaceutical continuous production process monitoring and control systems
  • Spare‑part replacement and technical renovation of legacy Honeywell UCN DCS power systems

Common Problems

  • No 24VDC output, power indicator off: Missing AC input, blown internal fuse, damaged primary switching circuit or failed power transformer.
  • Overtemperature alarm triggered frequently: Cooling fan failure, dust clogging of ventilation holes or high ambient cabinet temperature.
  • Unstable DC voltage and random controller reset: Aging electrolytic capacitors, loose chassis connector or excessive rack load.
  • Redundant power load imbalance and intermittent fault alarms: Mismatched power firmware, uneven current sharing or ground potential difference interference.
  • Power module cannot work normally after replacement: Incompatible hardware version, poor chassis backplane contact or incorrect redundant configuration.
