Honeywell 51305072‑300 (CLCN‑B CE) LCN B Network Interface Card
Product Description
51305072‑300, designated CLCN‑B CE, is a rack‑mounted LCN B network interface card for Honeywell TDC3000 / TPS DCS systems. It is installed in the cabinet node chassis and provides coaxial BNC connection for the LCN B cable. The circuit board adopts conformal coating, 24VDC power supply, built‑in transceiver and hardware watchdog circuit. It serves as the physical gateway between the node controller and redundant LCN B control network, realizing reliable high‑speed data exchange in 24‑hour continuous industrial control environments.

Product Functions
- Establish data connection between the node chassis and redundant LCN B control network via coaxial cable
- Realize bidirectional high‑speed transmission of process data, control commands and alarm information on LCN B bus
- Hardware signal isolation and noise filtering to suppress electromagnetic interference on coaxial communication lines
- Continuous self‑diagnosis of transceiver, link status and internal circuit faults, and report fault codes to the DCS operator station
- Cooperate with CLCN‑A card to build dual redundant LCN A / LCN B network and improve system communication reliability
Support hot‑swap replacement without shutting down the whole DCS node chassis

Application Scenarios
- Petrochemical refinery and chemical plant Honeywell TDC3000 / TPS distributed control cabinets
- Thermal power plant boiler and turbine DCS control node cabinets with redundant LCN network
- Offshore platforms, LNG and natural gas processing factory process control rooms
- Pulp, paper and pharmaceutical continuous production automation control systems
- Spare parts replacement and network renovation of legacy Honeywell LCN‑based DCS systems
Common Problems
- LCN B network offline and node communication lost: Loose BNC connector, damaged coaxial cable, improper terminal resistor setting or transceiver circuit failure.
- Intermittent network flicker and unstable data refresh: Poor shielding of coaxial wire, ground potential difference interference, contaminated BNC contact surface.
- Persistent network fault alarm: Mismatched CLCN‑A / CLCN‑B card pair, internal transceiver aging or unstable 24VDC rack power supply.
- Only LCN B fails while LCN A keeps normal: Damage to the BNC interface or failure of the dedicated LCN B signal processing circuit on the card.
- Communication abnormality after module replacement: Incompatible firmware version, incorrect network node address or poor backplane gold‑finger contact caused by dust and humidity.
