Honeywell 51204172‑175 (MC‑TAOY22) Analog Output FTA Terminal Board
Product Description
51204172‑175, also marked MC‑TAOY22, is a 16‑channel analog output Field Termination Assembly (FTA) for Honeywell Experion PKS / UCN DCS system. It works in pairs with MU‑PDOY22 AO control card. The board adopts DB68 internal connector to connect the I/O card and screw‑type field terminals for 4‑20mA control signals. The circuit board has conformal coating to resist moisture, dust and chemical vapor. It is installed inside the DCS cabinet, serves as signal transition interface between controller card and field control valves, and meets industrial EMC anti‑interference requirements.

Product Functions
- Transfer 16‑channel 4‑20mA analog control signals between MU‑PDOY22 card and field actuators
- Provide screw compression terminals for convenient field wiring, disconnection and maintenance
- Signal filtering and surge suppression to reduce electromagnetic noise interference on current loop
- Carry channel status feedback to the AO card for circuit fault diagnosis
- Support cabinet hot‑swap maintenance without shutting down the whole control rack
- Realize accurate output of control commands to regulating valves for flow, pressure and temperature regulation
Application Scenarios
- Petroleum refinery and chemical plant Experion PKS DCS control cabinets
- Thermal power plant boiler, steam turbine and auxiliary process regulation loops
- Offshore platforms, LNG and natural gas processing facility valve control systems
- Pulp, paper and pharmaceutical continuous production process control
- Spare parts replacement and renovation of existing Honeywell UCN distributed control systems
Common Problems
- No 4‑20mA output to field valve: Loose terminal wiring, broken DB68 connecting cable or open circuit on the FTA trace.
- Unstable and fluctuating control current signal: Poor wire shielding, loose screw terminals, surge damage to filter components.
- Individual channel failure while other channels work normally: Burned‑out channel circuit due to field short‑circuit or overvoltage.
- Controller reports FTA communication fault: Poor contact of DB68 connector, backplane signal pin oxidation or incompatible firmware version of matched AO card.
- Corrosion and intermittent signal dropout: Cabinet humidity, dust accumulation and conformal coating aging caused by long‑term operation.
