Honeywell CC‑PWRR01 Redundant Power Supply Subsystem
Product Description
CC‑PWRR01 (Part No.51199939‑100) is a rack‑mounted 1+1 redundant power supply subsystem designed for Honeywell Experion PKS Series C / ControlEdge DCS platform. It contains two hot‑swappable power units operating in active‑active load‑sharing mode, converting wide‑range AC input to regulated 24 VDC output for C300 controllers, IOM modules and backplane circuits. Rated total output is 20A / 500W, with auto‑ranging AC input 85‑264 VAC. The unit is built for continuous‑run mission‑critical process control cabinets with high availability requirements.

Product Functions
- Dual‑module active‑active redundant power operation with seamless automatic failover upon single‑unit fault or AC input loss.
- Hot‑swap support: replace one power unit online without shutting down DCS rack operation.
- Over‑voltage, over‑current, short‑circuit and over‑temperature protection for downstream DCS hardware.
- LED status indicators for power OK, fault and input power presence for local diagnostic visibility.
- Load‑sharing parallel operation to distribute rack load between two internal power supplies.
- Provides stable isolated 24 VDC power for C300 controller, Series‑C I/O modules and communication boards.
Application Scenarios
- Experion PKS C300 DCS control cabinets in petrochemical, oil & gas processing plants.
- Thermal power plant and combined‑cycle power unit control systems.
- Pharmaceutical, pulp‑paper and refining facilities requiring zero unplanned power‑related downtime.
- Process safety related control racks where single‑point power failure must be eliminated.
- ControlEdge Series‑C I/O rack retrofits and spare‑part replacement projects for existing Honeywell DCS installations.
Common Problems & Troubleshooting
- One module fault LED lit: Check corresponding AC input circuit, breaker and wiring. Perform hot‑swap replacement if internal power unit failure is confirmed.
- Both modules report fault, no 24VDC output: Verify main cabinet AC power source, check input fuses and terminal connections.
- Intermittent output drop or load alarms: Inspect rack backplane connectors; confirm total rack load does not exceed 20A rated capacity.
- Redundancy loss alarm in DCS system: Confirm both power units are fully seated, check load‑sharing communication between two power modules.
- Early aging performance degradation: Typical service life is 10‑15 years; schedule preventive replacement during planned plant shutdowns for units near end‑of‑life.
- Over‑temperature warning: Check cabinet ventilation, filter clogging and ambient operating temperature; ensure adequate airflow around power subsystem.
