Product Description

BHEL UN0660AV1 DVR Control Module (Part No. 69203DB1AA)

1. Product Description

UN0660AV1 with factory part number 69203DB1AA is a VME-format DVR (Digital Voltage Regulator) PCB card manufactured by BHEL for DATATRONIC generator excitation & turbine control systems. It belongs to the UN066x series together with UN0661AV1 and UN0662AV1, serving as the main reference signal processing unit for generator AVR compound regulation. This vertical single-slot rack card adopts fully conformal coated PCB to withstand dust, high humidity and corrosive flue gas in power plant control cabinets. It supports simplex and triple redundant TMR safety architectures for critical power generation units, powered by 24VDC rack bus supply. The dark metal front panel integrates multi-status LED indicators and front test terminals for on-site calibration, with dual metal ejector latches enabling hot-swap replacement without full rack power shutdown. The rear side is equipped with high-density dual-row VME gold finger bus connectors for high-speed data communication with the DATATRONIC rack master CPU, complying with industrial EMC and power station safety standards.

2. Core Product Functions

  • Reference voltage signal conditioning: process standard reference voltage setpoints for generator terminal voltage closed-loop regulation
  • Compound AVR logic coordination: match measured voltage data from UN0661AV1 and excitation current feedback from UN0662AV1 to form dual-loop voltage-current control
  • Adjustable voltage limit & V/Hz overflux protection logic to prevent generator core overheating under low-frequency grid conditions
  • Multi-stage fault detection: reference signal loss, PT circuit open/short, internal PCB power failure, backplane bus communication interruption
  • TMR redundant cross-voting function: synchronize reference voltage calculation data with two identical UN0660AV1 modules to eliminate single-card measurement deviation
  • Built-in galvanic isolation between high-voltage transformer secondary circuits and low-voltage digital logic to suppress strong EMI interference from switchgear and generators
  • Transmit real-time reference value, voltage limit status and fault codes to rack master controller via VME backplane bus, upload trend logs and SOE alarm records to plant DCS monitoring platform
  • Hot-swap support for redundant racks; faulty UN0660AV1 can be replaced online without interrupting generator excitation control operation

3. Application Scenarios

  • Coal-fired thermal power plant steam turbine generator static excitation control cabinets
  • Combined cycle gas turbine power plant generator compound AVR regulation systems
  • Large hydropower station synchronous generator voltage control racks with triple redundant safety design
  • Refinery, petrochemical and offshore platform self-generation turbine excitation protection panels
  • Heavy industry captive power plants with DATATRONIC turbine & generator control systems

4. Common Troubleshooting & Typical Issues

  • Reference Signal Loss Fault Alarm Persistent

Causes: Broken reference voltage wiring, loose terminal block connections, burnt internal signal conditioning circuit on UN0660AV1. Solutions: Check cable continuity, retighten all field wiring terminals, test and replace damaged signal channels or the whole module.

  • Generator Voltage Hunting & Unstable Fluctuation

Causes: Mismatched PID tuning parameters among UN0660AV1, UN0661AV1 and UN0662AV1; unshielded PT/reference cables; severe high-frequency EMI interference. Solutions: Synchronize compound AVR control parameters, install double-shielded twisted pair wiring and connect cable shielding to cabinet protective ground.

  • TMR Voting Discrepancy Alarm in Triple Redundant Rack

Causes: Uneven signal attenuation of three reference voltage loops, inconsistent calibration offsets of three UN0660AV1 cards. Solutions: Unify calibration parameters for all three DVR modules, standardize field cable length and shielding specifications.

  • Module FAIL LED Steady Red, Unrecognized by Rack Main CPU

Causes: Oxidized dirty VME backplane gold fingers, unstable 24VDC rack DC power supply, corrupted on-board firmware. Solutions: Clean PCB contact pins with anti-static lint-free cloth, stabilize rack power voltage, reload factory firmware or replace defective UN0660AV1 module.

  • V/Hz Overflux Protection Frequent Trip

Causes: Incorrect voltage/frequency limit parameters set on UN0660AV1, inaccurate PT voltage sampling signals. Solutions: Recalibrate PT measurement channels and adjust V/Hz protection threshold values per generator technical manual.
