MTL 9122-IS-PS FISCO Fieldbus Power Supply
Product Description
The MTL 9122-IS-PS is a simplex FISCO fieldbus power supply and repeater isolator with screw terminals, designed for Foundation Fieldbus IIB hazardous gas group applications. It transfers fieldbus signals from safe area or Zone 2 to intrinsically safe fieldbus segments for Zone 1 instruments. Certified to ATEX, IECEx and CCC Ex standards, it supports live maintenance on the field side without gas clearance, widely used in process safety automation systems.

Product Functions
- Provides intrinsically safe fieldbus power and signal isolation, max output current up to 256mA
- Acts as fieldbus repeater and galvanic isolator, 250V isolation between host and field side
- Switch-selectable host termination and host side power supply function
- Fixed termination on the intrinsically safe field side
- LED status indicators for fault diagnosis and segment monitoring
- Complies with IEC 60079-27 FISCO intrinsic safety specification
Application Scenarios
- Oil & gas, petrochemical, chemical process hazardous area control
- Foundation Fieldbus segments in Zone 1 / Zone 2 explosive environments (IIB gas group)
- Refineries, pipelines, pharmaceutical plants and mining process automation
- Process safety control systems requiring live hot work on field instruments
FAQ
Q: What gas group is MTL 9122-IS-PS suitable for?
A: It is for Gas Group IIB. For IIC applications, please select MTL 9121-IS series.
Q: How many field devices can one unit support?
A: It can power up to approx. 16 pcs of 15mA fieldbus instruments or 12 pcs of 20mA devices.
Q: Can maintenance be carried out when the fieldbus is powered on?
A: Yes. FISCO design permits live maintenance on the intrinsically safe field segment.
Q: What is the difference between 9122-IS-PS and 9122-IS-PC?
A: PS stands for screw terminal, PC stands for spring clamp terminal; electrical performance is identical.
