Product Description
Allen‑Bradley (Rockwell Automation) 100-D180ED00 Bulletin 100-D IEC Contactor
Product Description
100-D180ED00 is Rockwell Allen‑Bradley Bulletin 100-D series heavy-duty 3-pole IEC contactor. Rated 180A AC-3 duty, coil with electronic DC drive, suffix "00" means **no built-in auxiliary contacts**. It is a discontinued large-frame motor contactor, widely used for switching three-phase motors, heaters and other heavy industrial loads. This is the DC electronic coil variant of the 100-D180 family.

Key Specifications & Functions
- 3-pole non-reversing IEC contactor, AC-3 rated 180A, max main circuit voltage 600V AC
- Electronic DC coil (ED = Electronic DC coil): low power consumption, anti-chatter, stable pull-in and hold, less heat than conventional AC coils
- Suffix "00": No integrated auxiliary contacts (aux contact blocks can be added as side/front mount accessories)
- Motor rating: 90kW @400V 3-phase; 150HP @460V 60Hz
- Mechanical life: 10 million operations; Electrical life: up to 1 million operations under rated AC3 load
- Panel mount design; compatible with 193 series Allen-Bradley electronic overload relays for motor overload/phase loss protection
- Built-in arc quenching chamber for high-current switching, suppress electric arc during contact make/break
Application Scenarios
- Heavy industrial 3-phase motor starter, pumping, fan, compressor, conveyor motor control
- Chemical, water treatment, power plant, metal processing and packaging machine main power switching
- Legacy machine retrofit and spare part replacement for existing 100-D installed base
- Also used for switching large resistive heating loads and non-inductive process loads
Common Issues & FAQ
- Contactor fails to pull in / no action: Check DC coil supply voltage and polarity; inspect coil winding for open circuit; verify control circuit enable interlock signals.
- Contact overheating / burning: Check main terminal torque and loose wiring; inspect main contacts for pitting/wear; verify motor starting current and overload relay setting; check for phase imbalance.
- Intermittent dropout during operation: Check control voltage dip during motor start; inspect coil aging; check cabinet overheating or vibration causing poor wiring contact.
- Refurbished / replacement unit note: After installation, tighten main power terminals to rated torque. Test coil pull-in and drop-out voltage. Perform motor start-stop test, check contact temperature rise and verify overload relay coordination. Since this model is discontinued, verify compatibility with existing overload relay and control circuit before commissioning.
