The TRICONEX 3351S2 is a Redundant Analog Input Module for the Triconex Tricon safety instrumented system (SIS). This module is an essential component in industrial control systems, designed to ensure safety and reliability in critical processes.

• Triple Modular Redundancy (TMR): The Triconex system itself operates on a TMR architecture. While the 3351S2 module has redundant channels,

• it integrates seamlessly into the larger TMR framework, where three separate logic solvers are used to vote on outputs. This provides a very high level of fault tolerance.

• Analog Input Processing: It converts continuous analog signals (e.g., 4-20 mA, 1-5 V) into digital data that the main Tricon controller can use.

• Fault Detection and Diagnostics: The module continuously monitors its own health and the integrity of the input signals. It can detect open circuits, short circuits, and other faults, flagging them for maintenance personnel.

• Hot-Swappable: The module can be replaced while the system is running, reducing downtime and simplifying maintenance.
