Product Description

HIMA K9212 Axial Fan Module

Short Description: HIMA K9212 is a rack-mounted axial fan module specially designed for HIMA HIQuad H41q / H51q safety instrumented systems. It provides targeted forced cooling for CPUs and high-power I/O modules inside the subrack to maintain stable thermal environment for safety-critical automation hardware. Featuring long service life, fan speed monitoring and snap-in installation, it is an essential thermal management spare part for HIMA SIS racks.

Product Functions

  • Targeted forced air cooling for HIMA H41q / H51q subrack CPU and high heat dissipation modules
  • Built-in fan speed detection, sends fault alarm signal to Z6018 monitoring unit once fan abnormality occurs
  • Supports side-by-side installation, up to 4 units in one subrack for enhanced cooling capacity
  • Tool-less snap-in structure for quick replacement during maintenance
  • Continuous 24/7 operation with long rated service life up to 70,000 hours at 40°C
  • 24VDC power supply, compact aluminium housing suitable for 19-inch rack subrack installation

Application Scenarios

  • Safety Instrumented System (SIS) racks for oil & gas, refinery and petrochemical plants
  • Emergency Shutdown System (ESD) based on HIMA HIQuad H41q / H51q controllers
  • High-density I/O subracks in process automation control cabinets
  • Power plant safety control systems and chemical process safety control units
  • Critical industrial safety PLC rack thermal management and redundant cooling configuration

FAQ

Q1: Which HIMA systems is K9212 compatible with?

A1: It is designed for HIMA HIQuad H41q and H51q safety controller subracks only. It cannot be used on other HIMA series racks without modification.

Q2: What will happen if K9212 fan fails?

A2: The module sends fault feedback to Z6018 monitoring unit and triggers system alarm. Single fan failure will not shut down the whole SIS system in redundant cooling layout, but replacement is required as soon as possible.

Q3: Can I install K9212 by myself without tools?

A3: Yes, it adopts snap-in design without screws. However, installation and replacement must be operated by certified engineers following safety lockout procedures.

Q4: What causes short service life of K9212 fan module?

A4: Heavy dust, corrosive gas, high ambient temperature and strong vibration will accelerate bearing wear. Regular cabinet air filter cleaning is recommended.

Q5: Is K9212 repairable on site?

A5: It is a replaceable spare part. On-site repair is not recommended. Direct module replacement is the standard maintenance method once fan bearing or speed sensor malfunctions.
