Basler DECS‑250 CN1SN1N Digital Excitation Control System (AVR)
Product Description
The Basler DECS‑250 CN1SN1N is a full‑featured digital excitation controller (automatic voltage regulator) for synchronous generators and synchronous motors. It delivers high‑precision voltage regulation, VAR / power factor control, paralleling droop control and integrated generator protection. CN1SN1N is the factory configuration code that defines mounting, I/O, communication and power supply options for this unit. It is widely used in hydro, diesel, gas turbine and marine generator excitation cabinets, configured and tuned via BESTCOMSPlus® software with BESTlogicPlus programmable logic.

FAQ
Q: What is the difference between DECS‑250 CN1SN1N and LN2SN1N?
A: The prefix CN / LN defines mounting style and terminal layout; CN is panel mount, LN is rack/chassis mount, internal control functions are the same.
Q: What is the difference between DECS‑250 and DECS‑250N?
A: DECS‑250N adds negative field forcing capability for faster transient response, suitable for strong grid and high‑speed disturbance applications.
Q: Can it replace ABB UNITROL series AVR?
A: It can be used as functional replacement, but PT/CT wiring, auxiliary power, excitation power stage and control logic require re‑configuration and commissioning.
